crumpets in the face of adversity

Tomorrow, real life intrudes once more, and, as Miranda would undoubtedly say:

RUDE

I think so.

We are not keen.

We have kept up our holiday spirits to the last in an attempt at defiance.

Yesterday we went to visit my friend Kate and her children. We ate a lot of Christmas biscuits and had an excellent time, before coming back to a hearty takeaway curry and back to back episodes of the new series of The Bridge.

Today we went to Staunton Harold in the teeth of driving rain. We got some beautiful ceramic bird feeders for our new garden and ate crumpets dripping with melted cheddar in the tea rooms.

All very satisfactory.

Now we are at the homework/admin/organisation stage of things and are no longer able to pretend that all is well.

Gah.
